Of course I had to make something heart-shaped, but this piece is a little different. A collection of beads old and new give it a fun vintage look. I really hadn't tried anything like this before, but now that I have the technique down, I've got a bunch of ideas. Happy day of love to all!

Happy Valentines' Day!

Bustin' out the tools
So last night I busted out the jewelry stuff, which I haven't done since I went back to work. And you know what? It felt good. Everyone needs that little outlet of something they like to do that makes them feel creative. I decided to leave the tools out where I could get to them more often--I hope you'll find something to do that with too.Tuesday, August 5, 2008
A little break in the action

An old friend
A couple days ago I got to do a repair on a bracelet I sold at a local boutique a while back. It sounds kind of strange, but I was glad to see that bracelet again. Partly because when my jewelry breaks (which thankfully isn't very often) I learn from it, and partly because it's fun to see a creation that I had kind of forgotten about--it's like running into an old friend. So I fixed the old friend up, snapped a picture for old-time sake, and felt happy to give it back to its owner who is enjoying it so much.

Willow Worthy!
So my friend Willow is always saying to me, "You need to make bigger earrings--like almost-to-my-shoulders big. Know what I mean?" That's Willow--always encouraging me to try something new. So I started messing around with some different chandelier styles and came up with these babies: 3.5 inches long and, I think, totally worthy of my friend Willow. Anyway, kinda fun and definitely different.

So much fun!
We did it--the first ever Tacoma Crafty Ladies Spring Show. Eight ladies brought their wares and the guests showed up to shop, talk, eat cupcakes, and drink coffee. It was a lot of fun and good to see so many familiar faces. Thanks to all who came out to support us!

In addition to Adorn, the vendors were
Michelle with her adorable baby clothes (www.bryncouture.com)
Jennifer of Lauren Grace Accessories brought her darling hair clips and jewelry for little girls
Linda of Hand Maid and Foot Prince with her unique flannel oversized receiving blankets
Amber brought her fashionable handmade purses (of course I had to have one of those)
Jessica with her off-the-beaten-path baby tank tops, crocheted hats and blankets, and other fun stuff for little ones
Grace with her darling handmade vintage-style stuffed animals
Toni of Crooked Pinkie Productions with her nature-inspired greeting cards
It was quite a nice mix. Willow's studio turned out to be a great venue, and she had fun shooting pics of several people who attended. It was a great day.
